Cardinal Hume wrote ‘Teaching is one of the fundamental of all vocations’ and the ability to develop that vocation in a supportive and enriching environment is important for anyone involved in working with children or young adult.  This is why in 2010 the Diocesan Pilgrimage intends to establish a small group for those who are new or recently qualified teachers to travel to Lourdes.  NQT’s/RQT’s will not only have the opportunity to travel to Lourdes with other colleagues from around the Diocese but in volunteering alongside other young people and adults from throughout the pilgrimage they will have an opportunity to see the values and beliefs of Catholic Faith in practice.

The group will be supported by a senior member of the Diocesan Office for Education and there will be plenty of opportunity for you to meet with other experienced teachers who return to Lourdes year after year.
